My name is Danaë Bleuel, I believe in having your birth your way. I have always had a fascination with the birthing process, and I believe that a women is at her most beautiful stage in life while going this process.  They are beaming mother's who radiate a glow, no one else can, which stays with them after birth as they see their child for the very first time face to face. It is a miracle every time and not necessarily in the religious sense.
I became interested in Doula work when I helped my sister through some of her difficult birthing process, and it made me realize that I could help make a difference in other mother's lives too, thus my path to becoming a Doula has begun.
I am currently a student nurse at San Jose State University, and plan on graduating in the next year. I hope to go into Labor and Delivery and carry my Doula training with me to help mother's more than just recording vital signs, giving medications, and so on.   I intend to continue as a Doula separately outside of my nursing scope of practice, as well.
In addition to being a certified Doula and becoming a nurse, I have  received my Certificate to become a Lactation Counselor.  I will be apprenticing with Sonja Massey, RN, and IBCLC in Monterey. I thank her for taking me on as new pupil to help me reach my goals.
I plan to eventually get my Master's in Women's Health with a Midwife Certification emphasis. Until that time I plan on helping mothers from a different aspect, as their Doula or as their nurse.
